Bitwright SolidToolbar

The Bitwright SolidToolbar control is an ActiveX control that you can use with Microsoft® Visual Basic® to insert custom dockable toolbars into SolidWorks® mechanical design software.

The SolidToolbar control includes the SolidToolbar Designer, a simple intuitive graphical interface that lets you design and edit custom toolbars with no learning curve.

Using SolidToolbar is easy. Just add it to the VB Toolbox and draw a copy on a Visual Basic form. Set a few design time properties and you’re done — SolidToolbar takes care of the details for you, and lets you concentrate on writing your own program.

When a SolidWorks user picks an item on a SolidToolbar custom toolbar, the control raises a ToolbarItemSelected event. Your program can handle this event to react to the user’s pick however you want.

SolidToolbar toolbars feature large and small buttons and can include separator bars. You can specify which SolidWorks document types should show your toolbar. And you can control the state of any item on a SolidToolbar custom toolbar at runtime — you can show an item modal or modeless, and you can disable or enable an item at any time.

The Bitwright SolidToolbar control works with standalone Visual Basic, with the VBA that is included in SolidWorks 2001, and with most other versions of VBA as well.
