Bitwright SolidMenu The Bitwright SolidMenu control is an ActiveX control that you can use with Microsoft® Visual Basic® to insert custom menus into SolidWorks® mechanical design software. Using SolidMenu, you can add new items to existing SolidWorks menus or create new dropdowns on the SolidWorks menu bar. The SolidMenu control includes the SolidMenu Designer, a simple intuitive graphical interface that lets you design and edit custom menus with no learning curve. Using SolidMenu is easy. Just add it to the VB Toolbox and draw a copy on a Visual Basic form. Set a few design time properties and you’re done — SolidMenu takes care of the details for you, and lets you concentrate on writing your own program. When a SolidWorks user picks an item on a SolidMenu custom menu, the control raises a MenuItemSelected event. Your program can handle this event to react to the user’s pick however you want. SolidMenu menus can feature keyboard shortcuts, separator bars, and submenus. You can specify which SolidWorks document types should show your menu. And you can control the state of any item on a SolidMenu custom menu at runtime — you can show an item checked or unchecked, and you can disable or enable an item at any time. The Bitwright SolidMenu control works with standalone Visual Basic, with the VBA that is included in SolidWorks 2001, and with most other versions of VBA as well. Like all Bitwright products, SolidMenu is available with a free 30-day evaluation license. SolidMenu is fully functional throughout this period. At the end of the evaluation period, SolidMenu will stop working unless the evaluation license has been upgraded with a license key purchased from Bitwright Software. Buying a license key for SolidMenu entitles you to unlimited use of the control with no further obligation to Bitwright Software.
