Add-In Maker

Bitwright Add-In Maker puts any  standalone program — like your Visual Basic-compiled EXE — under the control of the SolidWorks Add-In Manager.

The SolidWorks Add-In Manager provides a single dialog box through which SolidWorks users can control the loading and unloading of add-in programs — including automatic loading at SolidWorks startup.

Bitwright Add-In Maker creates DLLs that form a link between the SolidWorks Add-In Manager and any program compiled to run under Win32 — including EXEs compiled by Visual Basic. These DLLs have a simple mission:  they launch the specified program when they are loaded, and close that program when they are unloaded.

Add-in DLLs created with Bitwright Add-In Maker appear in the SolidWorks Add-In Manager dialog box.  During a SolidWorks session, the Add-In Manager will load and unload these add-in DLLs —  starting and stopping the specified programs — according to the state of the Add-In Manager check boxes.

For each DLL file it creates, Bitwright Add-In Maker also

  • registers the new add-in on the developer's computer

  • creates a custom installation utility to automate registering the new add-in on other computers

  • creates a custom uninstallation utility to automate removing the new add-in

A single Bitwright Add-In Maker installation can create add-in DLLs for an unlimited number of programs.

Like all Bitwright products, Add-In Maker is available with a free 30-day evaluation license. Add-In Maker is fully functional throughout this period. At the end of the evaluation period, Add-In Maker will stop working unless the evaluation license has been upgraded with a License Key purchased from Bitwright Software.

Add-in DLLs created with Add-In Maker under an evaluation license will stop working at the end of the evaluation period.
